We constantly hear about India’s rising GDP. But the reality on the ground tells a completely different story, and the everyday systems we fund are failing.

Here is what we actually need to talk about:

Quality Control: Our food and medicine exports are getting banned abroad for contamination, but the government just denies it and avoids accountability. Here at home, fake and substandard medicines are a daily risk.

Infrastructure & Environment: Brand-new bridges are collapsing within weeks of opening. The massive money spent on them is totally unjustified. At the same time, the air and water in our cities are barely safe to breathe.

Taxes vs. Returns: We pay heavy GST and income tax. Yet we still have to spend our own money on private education and healthcare because the public options are unusable. The middle class is sinking while the wealth gap just keeps growing.

Consumer Damage: Sudden, unannounced changes—like mixing ethanol into petrol and the upcoming diesel changes—are ruining private vehicles. People who bought cars or bikes on EMIs or with their life savings are left with broken engines. No warning, no acknowledgment, and zero compensation from the government.

National Security: Over the last 10 years, we've seen so many violent incidents and terror attacks. Yet there is absolutely no accountability for the intelligence failures that allow these tragedies to keep happening.

The Media Gap: Mainstream news has largely become "godi media," acting as government PR instead of asking hard questions. Foreign media and independent journalists are trying to fill that gap, but they face huge risks. Independent journalists are arrested, beaten, and some even die doing their jobs—with zero accountability for the authorities or mobs responsible.

Temple Transparency: Recent thefts and terrible cash handling inside major temples show a complete lack of basic financial accounting.

Justice & Civic Rights: The courts are too backlogged to help the average person. If you raise your voice, you get dismissed as a "cockroach." When students protested on July 20th just to express their problems, they were met with extreme violence instead of a simple dialogue. Protestors suffered broken limbs, severe head injuries, and bled to death, while authorities and media branded them "gundas" and "Pakistanis." Shockingly, the courts refused to even watch the videos of these victims, calling it a waste of time.

Citizenship Confusion: To make things worse, the government now claims no single document—not even a passport or Voter ID—is final proof of citizenship. We go through intense police verification for these documents, but we are told they still don't prove we belong here. The anxiety this creates is massive.

The Missing Opposition: While the ruling party avoids responsibility, the political opposition is just as accountable. Instead of fighting for the public, they are entirely focused on their own political games, leaving citizens completely defenseless.

These compounding issues are actively destroying India's reputation on the global stage. Economic growth on paper means absolutely nothing if basic living standards, safety, and civil rights are ignored.

We don't need better statistics. We need real accountability.
